About Us

Located in Colorado Springs, Colorado, Mr. Lightning is in the business of protecting industrial, commercial, and residential structures since 1959.

Mr. Lightning works in one of the most active and intense lightning strike areas in the country, and has first hand experience in lightning related damage and its prevention. In Colorado Springs alone, more than 13,000 lightning strikes occurred last year. That’s more than 18.1 strikes per square mile! That is the second highest in the nation!

Bret Peifer, President of Sales and commercial estimating, is certified as a Master Installer and a Master Designer by the Lightning Protection Institute. Scott Corey, President in charge of Production, is certified as a Master Installer. Gary Klatt has recently joined our team as the Residential Sales Manager. He brings with him over 10 years of sales and installation experience and is also a Certified Master Installer by the Lightning Protection Institute. All three are qualified designers of surge suppression and grounding systems as well.

The company employs the largest team of certified individuals in the state of Colorado. All of their installers have been certified by the Lightning Protection Institute as Journeymen or apprentices.
Mr. Lightning continues to research and use only the best and most appropriate and approved materials and techniques on its protection projects.
